FAQ

Common questions

If you don't see your question here, send us a message and we'll get back to you within one business day.

Who is eligible for your services?
We serve adults and transition-age youth (15+) with a documented disability who want to work. Eligibility for specific funding sources (DVR, Ticket to Work, PASA) varies — we'll help you sort it out at no cost.
How does a DVR referral work?
If you're already working with a DVR counselor, ask them to refer you to Mountain Employment Training. If you're not, we can help you start that process. Once a referral is authorized, we schedule an intake meeting within one week.
What does it cost?
Most services are funded by DVR, the Social Security Administration (Ticket to Work), or PASA — at no out-of-pocket cost to you. We also offer private pay for individuals or families who prefer that route.
Will working affect my SSI or SSDI benefits?
Often less than people expect. Our benefits planning service walks you through the exact numbers for your situation, including work incentives like Impairment-Related Work Expenses and the Trial Work Period.
What is Ticket to Work?
Ticket to Work is a free, voluntary Social Security program that connects people receiving SSDI/SSI with Employment Networks (like us) for employment support. Assigning your Ticket to Mountain Employment Training pauses medical continuing disability reviews while you're making timely progress.
Do you serve students still in high school?
Yes. Through Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), we offer career exploration, work-based learning, workplace readiness training, and self-advocacy support for students ages 15–21.
How accessible are your services?
Our office is wheelchair accessible, and we provide materials in plain language and large print on request. We can arrange ASL interpretation, accommodate sensory needs, and meet virtually or in the community when that works better.
